Stoltz Pool Campout 2018

You have arrived at the official 'blogspot' for the much anticipated Stoltz Pool Campout, 2018!

The card arrived in mail, you placed it with a magnet on the fridge, or stuck it in your underwear drawer.  Now that spring has sprung and the ice has melted off your boots, the time has come to think about the return of the sunny days to come.

First, I'm glad to hear that you have considered the invitation and are now 'getting serious' about the affair.  I know that all you Canucks are real pros at this whole camping gig.  You are born with a second sense for rubbing sticks together to build a fire, when tasked, you can construct a chair out of driftwood at 3 in the morning!  So why this *%#!ing blogspot you may be asking?!

I figured we could use this as a place to converge and plan.  Who will bring the ketchup? How about some music? Does any one wish to organize a bum-dart competition or a scavenger hunt for the kids?!  Shall we coordinate a hike down the river trail, and would anyone like to bring a tube and float the river?

We have a reservation at the Stoltz pool group campsite at the Stoltz Pool Campground, located within the Cowichan River Provincial Park.

The Stoltz Pool group site has a shelter with two wood stoves inside and picnic tables inside and out. Water is available by a water pump at the site. Beside the shelter is a communal fire pit surrounded by benches. There are 16 tent pads with trails leading to each one. The large gravel parking lot is situated between the river and the group site.
